Advocate Partha Sarkar has practiced law in Bangalore for over 25 years, with family and matrimonial matters as the principal area of his practice. His work runs from the first consultation and the choice of forum, through the Family Court, to appeals and quashing petitions before the High Court of Karnataka.

His family practice covers mutual consent and contested divorce, maintenance and alimony, child custody and guardianship, and domestic violence proceedings, together with the criminal cases that so often accompany a matrimonial dispute — cruelty and dowry complaints, anticipatory bail and quashing. A significant part of the work concerns Bengali-speaking families in Bangalore and clients living abroad whose dispute has a connection with Bangalore.

The practice is deliberately selective. It accepts a limited number of matters at a time — principally matters of clients living abroad, and matters whose complexity or value calls for close, personal attention — so that each is conducted by Advocate Partha Sarkar himself from the first consultation to the final order. Engagements are on written terms, with professional fees agreed at the outset, and the practice is conducted with the commitment to professional ethics and the dignity of the profession required by the Bar Council of India.
